KEITH PARSONS

Hi my name is Keith Parsons. I started shooting in 1986. I achieved 1st class in my first season in 1988 and passed my coaching badge, and I have been coaching ever since.

In 1989 I won the Outdoor County Championships for the first time, a title I’ve won five times. On winning it on one occasion I shot a new County and regional record for a York round of 1142. The previous day I shot a Gents FITA where I scored 1225. In the same season I shot a Hereford round of 1208, a record which still stands.

I’ve also won the County indoor Championships, and I have come second numerous times. I achieved Master Bowman in 1993 and maintained that level of shooting for quite a few years. I’ve shot for the County team since 1988, and with this team we have won the regional championships on quite a few occasions.

I have coached many club archers who, with my help, have become members of the County team and have gone onto win many County and Regional Championships, and even European titles. I’ve also helped others to achieve their coaching badges where they have gone onto coach the National Squad at lilleshal, and to go abroad with the GBR team. My life’s dream is to shoot the best shot with minimal effort, which I strive to do every time I pick up my bow.
